Replacement Levies on the Nov. 3, 2026 Ballot

What’s on the ballot

West Valley has two measures on the November 3 ballot. Propositions 1 and 2 are replacement levies, they replace levies our community approved in 2024 that expire in 2027, so they are not new taxes. Prop. 1 is a three-year Educational Programs and Operations (EP&O) levy that funds the staff, services and programs the state does not fully fund as part of “basic education.” Prop. 2 is a two-year Capital Projects levy for safety, security and infrastructure improvements. The two work together to support every student and school. We will be sharing regular information throughout the fall. Learn more at bit.ly/WV2026levies

Prop 1: the people in our buildings

The EP&O levy accounts for 15% of the district’s overall budget, and nearly half of those dollars — 45% — provide funding for teachers, classified staff, school administration, and technology staff. Another 2% provides funding for counselors and nurses. These are roles the state does not fully fund, which means levy dollars are a big part of what keeps them in our schools. Prop. 1 would continue that funding for three more years. Prop. 2 is the capital levy which provides funding for building maintenance. Learn more about the replacement levies at bit.ly/WV2026levies
